The Mayan ruins of Copán are strategically located in the
heart of the Copán Valley. In 1980 it was declared a World Heritage Site by
UNESCO, and considered by the guides and archaeologists as the Paris of its
time, the archaeological park of Copán Ruinas is a city that impresses in every
way. Copán was a state city that at its peak reached a population of about
21,000 inhabitants (during the Classic Period, between 250 and 900 AD)
The Main Group can be divided into two areas: Gran Plaza and
Acropolis. While the first was a public space, the second was a closed area,
reserved for the ruling elite. Other important points to visit are the Ball
Court, the Hieroglyphic Stairway and the Museum of Sculpture.

The tour is magical and very
informative, it is recommended to hire a guide to start a rich encounter with
the past. After the interpretation center for a brief introduction, they direct
it towards the entrance of the Guacamayas on an original path of the ancient
Mayan civilization.
